Director of Facilities

Genesis Christian College provides high quality education that develops a passion for lifelong learning, Christian character and a desire to serve God in the wider community. Our modern, well equipped campus is located on the north side of Brisbane with an enrolment of over 1500 students from Prep to Year 12.

We are seeking a Full Time, Director of Facilities to manage our Grounds team and the overall maintenance of the College facilities.

Reporting to the Principal, the Director of Facilities is responsible for the overall management and maintenance of College facilities, including management of related budgets, aesthetically pleasing and well-maintained buildings and grounds, security and safety, project management of capital works and equipment, coordination of Property Staff and external contractors, and well-monitored Work Health and Safety (WHS) processes and practices.

Our current Director of Facilities is retiring at the end of 2021 after 13 years of faithful service to the College. The successful candidate would need to be available to commence at the beginning of November 2021 for a handover period.

 

In order to undertake this leadership role, the successful candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • Previous experience in a similar position where duties may have included some of the following: project management, procurement of contract services, building services and/or workplace health and safety
  • Proven experience in team supervision and leadership
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with building regulations and relevant legislations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office products and email communication
  • Excellent and proven communication, negotiation, organisational, supervisory and interpersonal skills
  • Certificate IV WHS
  • Fire Safety Advisor qualification
  • Current First Aid certificate
  • Eligibility for a Working with Children Suitability Card (Blue Card)

Head of Mathematics (10-12)

We are seeking a passionate and engaging Mathematics Teacher to lead Senior Mathematics in the design and delivery of engaging and relevant curriculum as Innovation and Learning Leader (HOD) of Mathematics (Years 10-12). Reporting to the Head of Teaching & Learning, this position comprises a combination of teaching and non-contact time to fulfil the Full Time PAR (Position of Added Responsibility).

As a Teacher of Senior Mathematics in our Secondary school, you will be contributing to an exceptional learning environment that promotes the strong aims of an independent Christian school whilst leading a fun and dynamic Senior Mathematics team!

To be successful, you will have:

  1. QCT Registration (or eligibility);
  2. An active Christian faith, strong Christian character and the ability to inspire others;
  3. Experience teaching Senior Mathematics;
  4. Excellent leadership and time management skills, including the ability to cope with competing demands under pressure and work autonomously;
  5. Diplomatic and skilled verbal and written communication skills;
  6. Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to lead innovatively and influence outcomes;
  7. Commitment to the provision of quality customer service when interacting with parents and the wider community;
  8. Proven capability supporting teachers in their pedagogical practices and delivery of programs.
  9. Relevant experience in the current senior system
  10. Experience teaching Specialist Mathematics desirable

What the role will involve

Early Childhood Educator (Diploma)

Little Genesis Early Learning Centre is an initiative of Genesis Christian College, Bray Park and is an early learning centre for children aged from 6 weeks through to Kindergarten. We exist to nurture a love of Christ, a love of learning and a love of life.

We are seeking to employ a Diploma qualified educator to join our team of experienced and passionate staff in our Early Learning Centre, conveniently located on the grounds of Genesis Christian College at Bray Park. Working within a well-respected and supportive Christian environment.

The ideal candidate would possess the following: 

  • Be supportive of, and sympathetic to the philosophy and aims of a Christian Independent School and Christian ethos
  • Must have an Early Childhood Diploma qualification

Learn to Swim Instructors

Located within the Genesis Christian College campus, Genesis Sport & Aquatics (GSA) is a state-of-the-art facility with world-class coaches. With a focus on participation and improving sporting performance, Genesis Sport & Aquatics is open to both Genesis Christian College students and members of our local community.

 

Our exceptional Swim School is currently seeking Learn to Swim Instructors to provide high quality baby, learn to swim and stroke correction lessons at our Aquatic Centre. Come and work for a fun, dynamic team and help contribute to an exceptional learning environment that promotes the strong aims of an independent Christian school.

 

As a member of our Learn to Swim team, you would be responsible for:

  • Providing high quality swimming lessons to GSA clientele under the direction of the Swim School Coordinator and Director of Club Sport.
  • Lesson planning and progress reporting on students, based on the Learn to Swim Manual.
  • Attend Professional Development on a regular basis.
  • Being part of a team of excellence in the Aquatic Industry
  • Providing motivation and positive feedback to students and parents
  • A passion for Water Safety and excellent swimming technique
  • Cleaning and tidying where required.

 

To be successful, you will have:

  • Experience in the Aquatic Industry is required.
  • Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety (Austswim or ASCTA)
  • Excellent time management, reliability and organisational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Current Working with Children Suitability – Blue Card Child
  • Current CPR
  • Willingness to engage with the Christian ethos of our College

In addition, the Teacher of Infant and Preschool Certificate (Austswim or ASCTA) and competitive strokes (Austswim or ASCTA) is preferred but not essential.

This is a casual position. The successful applicant/s will need to be available to work rostered shifts. Varying shifts within the below timeframes are available.

  • Monday to Friday from 6:30am – 9:30am
  • Monday to Friday from 8:30am – 2:30pm
  • Monday to Friday from 3:00pm – 6:00pm
  • Saturday 7:00am – 12:00pm
