Genesis Christian College was selected to be involved in the Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA) Primary School Assessment & Work Samples project.
This project aims to support teachers to develop high-quality assessments aligned to the Australian Curriculum. Mrs Christine Butcher (Year 6 Teacher), Mrs Jacqui Grotius (Learning Leader/Year 2 teacher) and Di Todd (Director of Innovation & Learning – Upper Primary) spent two days gaining deeper insights into creating assessment that is valid, accessible and reliable and collaborating with teachers from the three sectors (State, Independent and Catholic schools).
The assessments created by Jacqui and Christine and the collected moderated samples from our students’ work will be published on the QCAA website to illustrate the achievement standard and the process of making judgments on student work.
It was wonderful to receive such positive praise and feedback from QCAA on the quality of the work being produced by our Genesis teachers.
